Pretoria: Construction Manager – Electrical

Job Description

Duties & Responsibilities Key Responsibilities Manage and supervise all electrical construction activities on site Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel Ensure compliance with project specifications, drawings, and quality standards Monitor project progress against programme and budget Conduct site inspections and quality control assessments Ensure compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act and Construction Regulations Lead toolbox talks, safety meetings, and risk assessments Liaise with clients, consultants, engineers, and project stakeholders Manage procurement and material delivery schedules Review and approve method statements and technical submissions Prepare progress reports and attend site meetings Identify and resolve construction and technical issues proactively Ensure testing, commissioning, and handover requirements are completed Technical Competencies Electrical reticulation and distribution systems Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) systems Cable installations, substations, transformers, and switchgear Construction planning and scheduling Site supervision and contractor management Health & Safety compliance Quality assurance and control Contract administration knowledge (FIDIC advantageous) Behavioral Competencies Strong leadership and decision-making skills Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities Problem-solving and analytical thinking Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Strong organisational and planning skills Attention to detail and commitment to quality Added Advantages Experience on EPC / EPCM projects Knowledge of renewable energy or infrastructure projects First Aid and Fall Protection certifications Experience working with Eskom or municipal standards Desired Experience & Qualification Minimum Requirements National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field Trade Test Certificate (Electrician) advantageous SACPCMP registration as: Professional Construction Manager (PrCM), or Minimum 5–10 years’ experience in electrical construction projects Experience in medium voltage (MV) and low voltage (LV) installations Experience in industrial, commercial, infrastructure, or mining projects advantageous Valid driver’s licence Proficient in Microsoft Office and project planning software Package & Remuneration Market Related
