About the Role

Our client is seeking a Fleet Controller to join their team in Akasia, Pretoria. As a key member of the logistics team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient management of their fleet operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Capture and update planned loads on Fleet Management Systems (Soloplan)
  • Inform the Planner to allocate loads to trucks
  • Ensure drivers receive loading instructions and are aware of expectations
  • Continuously monitor truck and driver movements
  • Ensure planned and scheduled loads are picked up and delivered on time
  • Update stakeholders on progress and delays
  • Monitor diesel consumption and driver efficiency, informing the Training Centre of poor performance
  • Manage de-briefing sessions with truck drivers and assist with queries
  • Update daily attendance registers for drivers and manage planned and unplanned time-off
  • Liaise with clients on progress, changes, and resolve any issues
  • Inform Call Centre of breakdowns or related issues and follow up on ETA to resolve

Requirements

  • Minimum grade 12
  • 2-4 years related experience as a Fleet Controller in the road freight/logistics industry
  • Basic knowledge of Excel, Word, and general computer literacy
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans

Qualifications

  • High School (matric) is required
  • Qualification in Transport/Logistics is an advantage
