About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Patient Services Manager to lead and coordinate patient services operations in a leading private healthcare environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring exceptional customer care, accurate billing practices, effective stakeholder engagement, and strong financial performance. Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage patient services operations to achieve quality, growth, and financial objectives
  • Monitor and improve patient services quality metrics and customer experience outcomes
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, procedures, and data integrity requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Manage admissions processes and ensure compliance with funder contracts and rules
  • Drive accurate and timeous billing processes to achieve revenue cycle targets
  • Oversee bill auditing and coding compliance activities
  • Manage outstanding patient co-payments and support cash flow optimisation
  • Conduct DRG loss analysis and recommend corrective actions
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, employee development, and performance management initiatives
  • Support governance, audit readiness, risk management, and compliance activities
  • Participate in investigations and implementation of risk mitigation strategies

Requirements

  • Diploma or Degree in Nursing, Physiotherapy, Clinical Associates, Emergency Care, Paramedics, or another health sciences qualification covering Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Microbiology as foundational subjects; alternatively a BCom Degree in Accounting, Financial Management, Business Management, or a related field
  • Minimum five years’ experience within the private healthcare sector
  • Proven leadership, people management, and change management experience
  • Case Management and Coding experience
  • Registration with the relevant professional body where applicable
  • Understanding of private healthcare operations, legislation, funder environments, and healthcare industry dynamics
  • Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT and ICD coding principles, or the ability to acquire this knowledge rapidly
  • Strong understanding of financial principles including budgeting, planning, and credit management
  • Computer literacy and strong administrative capabilities
  • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel when required
