About the Role
Tumaini Consulting is seeking a seasoned Java Software Engineer to join their team in Johannesburg, Pretoria, or Cape Town. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience and expertise in software development, with a strong focus on enterprise environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications using Java and related technologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize project requirements
- Implement and integrate frontend and backend technologies, including JavaScript, Angular/React/Vue.js, and Express/NextJS
- Develop and optimize database solutions using MongoDB or MySQL
- Participate in code reviews and contribute to the improvement of the overall software quality
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in IT, Engineering, or related fields
- Minimum 6 years’ experience as a software engineer in an enterprise environment
- Proficiency in frontend technologies: JavaScript, Angular/React/Vue.js
- Proficiency in backend technologies: Java, Spring Boot, Node JS
- Experience with frameworks: Express/NextJS
- Familiarity with non-relational databases: MongoDB or MySQL
