About the Role
The Millwright role is a critical position that supports production efficiency targets by performing maintenance and repairs as per instruction or plan. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring machine safety, quality output, and minimizing downtime on production lines.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute effective production safety/housekeeping
- Assess the problem and determine a course of action
- Provide guidance and advice on machine operation, machine fault finding
- Reduce unplanned downtime on the production lines
- Ensure that manufacturing machines are optimised for quality output
- Manage preventative maintenance programs and ensure proper and safe operation of processing equipment
- Execute effective process control during production operations
- Replace defective parts of machine or adjust clearances and alignment of moving parts
- Align machines and equipment, using hoists, jacks, hand tools, squares, rules, micrometres, and plumb bobs
Requirements
- Matric (Math & Science)
- Trade Test
- Diploma (NQF 6 )
- Competence on PLCs (S7)
- Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, speed drives, fillers, and labelers
- Fully competent in both electrical and mechanical
