About the Role

The IT Marketing Systems Specialist will act as a key advisor to the business on matters relating to information technology innovation, providing expert guidance on system solutions and processes that drive creativity and innovation within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as advisor to the business on matters relating to information technology innovation by staying up to date with the latest developments and best practices in IT.
  • Promote and share information on opportunities to improve creativity and innovation competencies in the organisation.
  • Clearly understand business requirements for company systems solutions through thorough business analysis.
  • Engage with relevant business stakeholders through interviews and workshops to identify and unpack current business requirements.
  • Analyse current business processes, workflows, and system functionality.
  • Consider the impacts and consequences of process and system changes.
  • Review and request business updates to the requirements compiled by business colleagues in a business requirements specification.
  • Design effective system solutions for work processes and tasks.
  • Work with other relevant business colleagues to understand priorities and analyse business and user requirements.
  • Share best practice information to enable the identification of deficiencies in the company’s business process.
  • Contribute to the synthesising and detailed documentation of users’ current workflow, job roles, business processes, as well as business analysis findings, insights, and requirements.
  • Identify and prioritise technical and functional requirements.
  • Design new processes, workflows, and system integrations.
  • Capture the detail of system designs in functional and technical specification documentation.
  • Project manage system solution developments and changes to completion.
  • Plan milestones for deliverables and deployment and create a plan that visualises the timeline.
  • Track progress against milestone dates and report on progress.
  • Manage deviations and escalate roadblocks.
  • Configure system data structures, processes, and functionality according to specification.
  • Create data structures if required.
  • Apply technical specifications through configuration of the system.
  • Liaise with the Software Development team to brief in code.
  • Ensure all integrations with other systems are specified, coded, and established.
  • Deploy new systems solutions and system changes to users.
  • Create a test plan for the deployment of new or updated functionality and set up a testing team.
  • Run the system testing, review results, and make changes as required.
  • Communicate deployment dates with all affected stakeholders in IT and business.
  • Prepare training material and perform training with end-users.
  • Maintain existing system solutions and operations by managing current system functionality, making changes and updates when required, and communicating changes to the system.
  • Trouble-shoot functionality and transaction problems that occur on the system and find resolutions.
  • Monitor system usage and make proactive suggestions to stakeholders to improve usage and processes.
  • Assist users with queries or helpdesk calls raised to ensure business process continuity.

Requirements

  • NQF Level 6 (360 credits – 8 level framework) qualification in a business discipline or in Information Systems.
  • SAP SD module certification is a strong advantage.
  • 8-10 years work experience with at least 6 years of SAP SD & MM modules relevant experience, including configuration.
  • Experience in ABAP, Debugging, and custom SAP programs is advantageous for this position.
