About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Pastry Chef to join our luxury restaurant in Sandton, where you will be responsible for overseeing daily dessert production and creating innovative plated desserts with multiple garnish components.
Key Responsibilities
- Handle and oversee daily dessert production for hot and cold plated desserts
- Create new desserts and costings
- Manage food cost and GP’s for the pastry section
- Lead and delegate tasks to junior Pastry Team members (2 Junior CDP’s & 1 Trainee)
- Maintain high standards of quality and presentation
Requirements
- Focused pastry qualification
- At least 3 years’ experience within senior DESSERT Fine Dining / 5* a la carte operations
- Advanced Dessert Techniques needed for detailed plating components and INNOVATIVE plating concepts
- Strong personality and perseverance in working long & demanding shifts
- Strengths in delegating and leading junior Pastry Team
