ROLE OVERVIEW An opportunity exists for three experienced Diesel Mechanics to join a growing exploration drilling operation based in Secunda. The successful candidates will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and reliability of diesel-powered drill rigs and associated heavy-duty support equipment. This role suits a hands-on, problem-solving mechanic who thrives in field-based environments, takes pride in high-quality workmanship, and can operate independently under operational pressure. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Service, repair, and maintain diesel-powered exploration drill rigs. Maintain and repair associated support equipment including LDVs, trucks, and slurry pumps. Perform fault-finding, diagnostics, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting. Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance and machine inspections. Respond to breakdowns on-site and ensure rapid resolution. Manage ordering and stock control of maintenance and breakdown spares. Complete accurate job cards, maintenance logs, and service reports. Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and operational procedures at all times. Work structured hours: MondayFriday (06:0016:00), Saturdays (06:0013:00). REQUIREMENTS Qualified Diesel Mechanic (Red Seal preferred). Minimum 3 years experience working on diesel-powered equipment (drill rigs, trucks, heavy plant, or similar). Strong hydraulic, electrical, and diagnostic fault-finding skills. Valid Code EC (Code 14) drivers licence. Ability to work independently and under pressure in field conditions. Physically fit and able to pass mine medical requirements. Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
