About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Bartender to join our team at Bright Placements (PTY) Ltd. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for preparing and serving beverages to guests in a professional, efficient, and friendly manner, ensuring a high standard of service and guest satisfaction while maintaining hygiene, safety, and stock control standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes
• Mix cocktails, pour wines, and serve beers correctly
• Ensure consistency in drink quality and presentation
• Engage with guests and provide recommendations
• Deliver excellent customer service at all times
• Build rapport with guests and enhance their experience
• Handle guest queries and complaints professionally
• Maintain a friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor
• Set up and maintain a clean, organised bar area
• Ensure all bar equipment is in good working condition
• Adhere to opening and closing procedures
• Assist with stock takes and inventory control
• Monitor stock levels and report shortages
• Minimise wastage and prevent losses
• Ensure proper storage of beverages
• Follow stock rotation (FIFO principles)
• Comply with South African liquor laws and licensing regulations
• Ensure responsible service of alcohol
• Maintain hygiene standards in line with health regulations
• Follow workplace safety procedures
• Process payments accurately (cash, card, POS systems)
• Maintain correct cash float and reconcile at end of shift

Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent
• Bartending certification (advantageous)
