About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Business Analyst (Financial Markets) to join a dynamic, fast-paced financial services environment in Johannesburg. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional who thrives at the intersection of business and technology, with a strong focus on trading systems and South African financial market products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with business stakeholders to gather, analyse, and document business and system requirements
  • Translate business requirements into clear functional specifications for technology teams
  • Support the configuration, enhancement, and ongoing maintenance of trading systems
  • Collaborate with developers, vendors, and operations teams to ensure successful system delivery
  • Conduct impact analysis for system changes and enhancements

Requirements

  • 7+ years’ experience in a Business Analyst role within a similar environment
  • Strong understanding of financial products in the South African financial markets
  • Proven experience in the configuration and maintenance of trading systems
  • Solid analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to engage effectively with both business and technical stakeholders
  • Experience across capital markets, including equities, fixed income, derivatives, or money markets
  • Exposure to trading platforms, market data systems, or post-trade systems
  • Familiarity with Agile or hybrid delivery methodologies

Qualifications

  • Formal education/certifications (if applicable)

Salary & Benefits

  • Cost-to-company salary of up to R1.2 million per annum, negotiable based on experience and ability
