About the Role
We are seeking an exceptional Guide Trainer to join our Luxury Safari Collection in East Africa, working across multiple properties in Kenya and Tanzania. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for mentoring and developing guiding teams to deliver world-class safari experiences consistently across every property. With a deep-rooted commitment to conservation, community, and authentic East African hospitality, this is a rare opportunity for an experienced guide with a genuine talent for skills transfer to leave a meaningful legacy.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess current guiding standards across the collection’s properties in Kenya and Tanzania
- Design and implement structured training programmes aligned to the group’s guiding philosophy and luxury standards
- Conduct in-field mentorship, coaching, and practical assessments with guiding teams
- Develop SOPs, training manuals, and assessment frameworks for guide development
- Facilitate inter-property knowledge sharing and best practice across the portfolio
- Monitor guide performance and provide structured feedback and individual development plans
- Assist with guide recruitment assessments where required
- Champion conservation messaging, ecological knowledge, and interpretive storytelling across all properties
Requirements
- FGASA Professional Field Guide qualification – essential
- Full Lead Trails Guide qualification – essential
- Valid ARH certificate – essential
- Valid First Aid certification – essential
- Valid PrDP – essential
- Minimum 5 to 8 years’ field guiding experience in a luxury lodge environment – essential
- Proven experience as a Guide Trainer or Head Guide with a strong mentorship and development focus in a luxury lodge setting – essential and non-negotiable
- East African guiding experience (Kenya and/or Tanzania) – highly preferred
- Familiarity with East African wildlife, ecosystems, and habitats advantageous
- Familiarity with KPSGA, Tanzania Tourism licensing or equivalent East African qualification frameworks advantageous

Salary & Benefits
- Salary: USD 4,000 NETT per month
- Rotation: 3 months on / 1 month off
- Live-in: Lodge accommodation provided when in-house

This is a single, live-in roaming role. The successful candidate will be based across multiple properties in Kenya and Tanzania on a 3-months-on / 1-month-off rotation.
