About the Role

Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor for a luxury reserve in Northern KwaZulu-Natal. This live-in position is ideal for a hands-on, practical individual with strong mechanical and maintenance skills, comfortable working in a remote bush environment and committed to supporting lodge and reserve operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and manage safari and reserve vehicle fleet
  • Schedule and execute preventative maintenance
  • Perform mechanical diagnostics, fault-finding, and repairs
  • Maintain tyres, brakes, suspension, steering, and drivetrains
  • Keep accurate service and mileage records
  • Liaise with external mechanics as required
  • Lodge & Infrastructure Maintenance:
  • Maintain guest rooms, safari tents, and public areas
  • Conduct plumbing repairs and water system maintenance
  • Perform electrical fault-finding and basic installations
  • Handle carpentry, painting, and general building maintenance
  • Game Reserve & Operational Maintenance:
  • Maintain pumps, boreholes, and water reticulation systems
  • Conduct fence, gate, and welding repairs
  • Maintain reserve roads in coordination with contractors
  • Oversee workshop, tools, and equipment upkeep
  • Health & Safety:
  • Ensure vehicles are roadworthy and safe for guests
  • Maintain safe working practices across all operations
  • Report safety risks and infrastructure issues promptly

Requirements

  • Minimum 5–10 years’ maintenance experience (lodge, reserve, or remote-site advantageous)
  • Practical trade qualification beneficial
  • Strong mechanical and technical knowledge
  • Valid driver’s licence
