About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical & Electrical Engineer to join our team in South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, maintaining, and optimizing mechanical/electrical systems within production and manufacturing environments, while ensuring compliance with local and international safety, quality, and environmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, maintain, and optimise mechanical/electrical systems within production and manufacturing environments
- Troubleshoot equipment failures and implement corrective and preventive measures
- Support continuous improvement and efficiency projects on-site
- Ensure compliance with local and international safety, quality, and environmental standards
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and project engineering
- Contribute to capital projects, equipment upgrades, and plant expansions
Requirements
- BEng degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 10+ years of relevant experience in FMCG, Chemical, or Packaging industries
- Strong technical knowledge of manufacturing processes, equipment, and systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, P&IDs, and electrical schematics
- Familiarity with health, safety, and environmental regulations
