About the Role

Safari JOBS is searching for a talented and passionate Pastry Chef to join an established luxury safari lodge environment. This role offers a unique opportunity for a pastry professional who takes pride in refined presentation, consistent quality, and the small details that elevate a guest’s dining experience. We are looking for a chef who is calm, creative, organised, and hands-on, with the confidence to deliver beautifully finished pastry items in a professional lodge kitchen environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute dishes according to high end dining standards
  • Maintain consistently high standards of taste, presentation, and technical execution
  • Follow recipes and plating guides and ensure consistency across all services
  • Uphold all food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards
  • Work closely with your kitchen brigade
  • Maintain a positive, respectful, and professional kitchen culture
  • Communicate clearly with senior chefs regarding prep, timing, and service flow
  • Assist with stock rotation, storage, and portion control
  • Assist with stock runs, receiving deliveries and maintaining accurate stock records
  • Support cost effective kitchen operations by minimising wastage
  • Ensure workstations and equipment are clean, functional, and well maintained
  • Follow daily cleaning schedules and lodge hygiene standards
  • Support dietary requirements and guest preferences

Requirements

  • Culinary qualification
  • Relevant pastry experience
  • Excellent English fluency (written & verbal) – non-negotiable
  • Highly presentable / take pride in your appearance
  • Ability to follow high end plating standards and instructions
  • Strong understanding of dietary requirements, food safety, hygiene, and HACCP principles
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment
  • Mature; reliable, and strong work ethic
  • Willingness to learn and grow under senior leadership

Salary & Benefits

Negotiable monthly remuneration. PLUS:
