About the Role
We are seeking a hands-on, operationally driven Guest House Manager to take full responsibility for the day-to-day running of our boutique guest house in Stellenbosch. With a focus on attention to detail, comfort, and personalised service, we deliver a seamless high-quality guest experience that exceeds expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all guest interactions, ensuring a warm, professional, and personalised experience
- Handle guest queries, requests, and complaints efficiently and effectively
- Monitor and respond to online reviews across platforms
- Assist with reservations and booking enquiries
- Oversee daily housekeeping operations and standards
- Coordinate maintenance requirements and manage external suppliers
- Manage bookings across platforms such as Nightbridge, Apply Below, and Airbnb
- Monitor occupancy levels, rates, and availability
- Ensure accurate system management and reporting
- Supervise and support on-site staff
- Allocate daily tasks and ensure operational efficiency
- Maintain a positive, accountable team culture
- Manage payments, stock control, and basic financial processes
- Compile and submit regular operational reports to the owner
Requirements
- 2–5 years’ experience in a hospitality management role, ideally within a boutique hotel or guest house environment
- Working knowledge of booking platforms and PMS systems
- Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and take initiative
