About the Role

The Production Coordinator role is a critical component of our operations team, responsible for ensuring the smooth production process across our Feedmill/Block/Pellet Plant. This position requires strong leadership and management skills to oversee daily operations, manage manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations across the Feedmill/Block/Pellet Plant to ensure production targets, efficiency, and quality standards are achieved.
  • Oversee the scheduling and execution of production activities to align with priorities and output requirements.
  • Coordinate the effective utilization of manpower, equipment, and materials to meet production goals.
  • Stand in for Production Shift Coordinators in their absence.
  • Process Management: Supervise the execution of the production process, ensuring compliance with established procedures and protocols.
  • Implement and maintain operational controls to ensure Right First-Time production.
  • Work closely with Process Engineer on process improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate incident/customer complaint investigations and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and development for the production team to enhance skills, ensure adherence to procedures, and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Schedule and monitor employee shifts, leave, and overtime while maintaining optimal staffing levels.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • National Diploma in Chemical Engineering or Production/Operations Management
  • B.Tech an added advantage
  • Minimum experience of 3 years in a manufacturing environment with a minimum of 2 years at a supervisory capacity
