Minimum Requirements

  • CA(SA) qualification or a Senior Trust Accountant with a minimum of 5 years’ relevant experience
  • Extensive experience in trust accounting, trust administration, and trust tax reporting
  • Strong knowledge of trust tax compliance and trust structures
  • Sound understanding of the Trust Property Control Act
  • Experience interpreting trust deeds and wills
  • Advanced knowledge of SARS trust reporting requirements and compliance obligations
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement abilities
  • Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage competing priorities

Key Responsibilities

As the Senior Trust Accountant, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing trust administration statements and trust financial statements
  • Completing trust tax computations and tax reporting requirements
  • Drafting and reviewing Trust Distribution and Attribution Schedules
  • Preparing and reviewing Section 7C calculations
  • Managing trust accounting records and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Interpreting trust deeds, wills, and trust structures to support accurate financial reporting
  • Overseeing trust tax compliance and reporting obligations
  • Managing SARS Third-Party Data Reporting requirements, including:
    • IT3(t)
    • IT3(d)
    • FATCA reporting
    • CRS compliance
  • Providing technical guidance and trust-related expertise to internal stakeholders
  • Identifying opportunities to enhance trust administration processes and client service offerings
  • Delivering strategic financial insights and recommendations based on trust structures and tax considerations
  • Maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance
