About the Role
Our client, OttoBauthentic, is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor with a strong understanding of finance accounting to join their team. The ideal candidate will come from a Retail / Commercial / FMCG background and have a proven track record in internal auditing, financial statement analysis, and risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Timely completion of risk-based annual operational and financial audits across the African franchisee market in line with the company’s internal audit approach, plan, and agreements.
- Report on and/or refer deviations to Compliance Finance Manager for review and distribution to the organisation, and all applicable stakeholders.
- Conduct loss prevention audits and develop reviews of equity-owned restaurants, including on-site reviews at Equity stores and interaction with OPS staff.
- Report on and/or refer deviations to Internal Auditor for review and distribution to organisation and Operations Teams.
- Execute RSC Internal Audit Reviews as per Risk & Control Matrix, company’s internal audit approach, plan, and agreements.
- Keep SOX process documents up to date and in line with Global expectations and ensure compliance with SOX controls by the broader finance team.
- Prepare monthly VAT returns.
- Support Compliance Finance Manager during statutory audit and financial statement preparation process.
- Ensure compliance with local financial reporting requirements.
- Support Compliance Finance Manager to implement a risk and governance framework.
- Communicate with OPS team to improve and uphold required loss prevention policies and procedures, and support Franchise Business Partners to enforce compliance to applicable franchisee policies (IFA, FPM, etc.).
- Assist with resolving issues with LT, Legal, Finance, and Operations function.
Requirements
- Strong understanding of finance accounting.
- Experience in internal auditing, specifically around the verification and effectiveness of internal controls, financial statement analysis, and procedures within the Retail/Commercial/FMCG environment.
- Knowledge of a risk and governance environment.
- Membership in good standing with the Institute of Internal Auditors/SAICA/SAIPA (very advantageous).
- Strong IT skills and competency in Computer-assisted Audit Techniques (CAATS).
- Microsoft Office Suite proficiency.
- Solid financial statements analysis and interpretation skills (liquidity, solvency, debt-equity, etc.).
- Willingness to travel in South Africa and rest of Africa.
- Micros/GAAP POS knowledge and experience.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
