About the Role
Communicate Finance is seeking a highly skilled Test Automation Engineer (SDET) to join our team in ensuring the quality, reliability, and scalability of modern cloud-native applications. As a key member of our engineering process, you will design and build robust automation frameworks that drive quality into microservices and microfrontend architectures from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and build automation frameworks for APIs, UI, and backend services
- Collaborate with software engineers to bake quality into microservices and microfrontend architectures
- Integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
- Own automation across multiple areas of the application
- Help shape how quality engineering evolves in a modern DevOps environment
Requirements
- Minimum 4+ years’ experience in formal testing roles within structured engineering environments
- Strong programming ability in Java (Spring Boot preferred)
- Proven experience testing microservices and microfrontends in cloud-native architectures
- Hands-on automation experience for Angular applications
- Experience building automated tests for REST APIs, UI components, and backend services
- Practical experience with Playwright, K6, or JMeter
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines, ideally within Azure DevOps
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Solid grasp of SDLC, STLC, and DevOps principles
- Experience with contract testing and mocking strategies (e.g. Pact)
- Interest in leveraging AI-assisted testing to improve coverage and speed
Qualifications
Formal testing experience required
Relevant technical qualifications or certifications are beneficial but not mandatory
