Witbank: Insurance Manager

Our client, a leading player in the banking and insurance sector, is seeking an experienced Insurance Manager to join their WealthInsure division. This role focuses on developing and managing a portfolio of high-net-worth (HNW) clients , delivering customised short-term insurance solutions, and ensuring a superior, personalised client experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive new business acquisition through sourcing and converting HNW client leads.
• Conduct detailed needs analyses to identify gaps in existing insurance cover and recommend tailored solutions.
• Design and present customised short-term insurance solutions aligned to client needs and risk profiles.
• Manage and grow a portfolio of HNW clients, ensuring retention, renewals, and ongoing servicing .
• Provide exceptional client service , including policy administration, claims assistance, and advisory support.
• Maintain accurate client records and ensure policy compliance and quality control .
• Monitor portfolio performance, including loss ratios, renewals, and profitability metrics .
• Collaborate with internal teams (claims, underwriting, IT, and product) to enhance service delivery.
• Ensure full compliance with FAIS, FICA, POPIA, and Treating Customers Fairly (TCF) frameworks.

Requirements

Minimum 5 years experience in short-term insurance , preferably in a client-facing or portfolio management role. Proven experience managing or servicing HNW clients . Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship management skills . Sound knowledge of insurance products, underwriting principles, and policy structuring . Working knowledge of FAIS and FICA legislation Ability to analyse policies and identify coverage gaps and risk exposures . Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities.

Qualifications

FAIS compliant (RE certification and Fit & Proper requirements). Grade 12 (relevant insurance or business qualification advantageous). Registered FSP Representative (relevant categories).
