About the Role
Kendrick Recruitment is seeking a practical, hands-on Maintenance Manager to join a luxury safari lodge located in the Zululand region of KwaZulu-Natal. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled individual who takes pride in maintaining high standards across lodge infrastructure and operational systems in a remote bush environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform basic repairs and general lodge maintenance (gates, plumbing, small fixes, etc.)
- Conduct regular equipment inspections and maintenance checks
- Manage and monitor water systems, including pumps and meters
- Carry out daily fleet checks and basic vehicle maintenance
- Assist with veld and farm-related operational support
- Prepare vehicles for game drives (fuel, cleanliness, basic checks)
- Assist rangers when required (non-guest facing support duties)
- Report directly to the Lodge Manager
Requirements
Previous maintenance experience, ideally within a lodge or remote hospitality environment
Strong general handyman and repair skills
Basic understanding of plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems
Comfortable working in a bush/farm environment
Hands-on, reliable, and proactive approach to maintenance
Ability to work independently and as part of a small team
Calm and practical under pressure
