Operations Manager | Luxury Country Inn | Zululand Kendrick Recruitment is seeking an experienced and passionate Safari & Experiences Manager to join the management team at a luxury country inn in Mkuze, KwaZulu Natal. This senior leadership role is responsible for overseeing all safari, boat, and guest activity operations, ensuring exceptional guest experiences while supporting sustainability, conservation, and community initiatives. Package & Benefits Salary: R25,000 – R30,000 Location: Mkuze, KwaZulu Natal Housing, lights & water included 7% company contribution to Momentum Provident Fund (after probation) 50% company contribution to Momentum medical aid (optional, after probation) Key Responsibilities Deliver consistently exceptional safari and guest experiences across all activities (game drives, boat cruises, scenic drives, cultural and guided experiences) Oversee safari vehicles, boats, and equipment, ensuring safety, presentation, and operational readiness Lead, mentor, and train the safari and experiences team, fostering a guest‑focused culture Develop authentic new experiences aligned with the property’s positioning in Zululand (conservation, wellness, family, birding, cultural, and premium offerings) Support sustainability, conservation, and community projects through Fair Trade Tourism commitments Build strong relationships with reserves, conservation partners, and tourism stakeholders Ensure compliance with health, safety, and operational standards Manage budgets, reporting, and administration for safari and activity operations ✅ Minimum Requirements Proven experience managing safari, lodge, or experiential tourism operations Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills Valid driver’s licence with PDP Experience managing safari vehicles and operational assets Flexible to work weekends and public holidays Passion for hospitality, conservation, and guest experience Highly Advantageous Valid skipper’s licence and boating experience FGASA qualification or guiding background Hospitality management experience in boutique or experiential properties Knowledge of Zululand reserves and regional tourism offerings First Aid qualification ✨ This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands‑on, guest‑focused leader to shape the safari and experiential offering at a luxury property in Zululand, while contributing to meaningful conservation and community initiatives.
