About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and skilled accountant to take full ownership of a portfolio of outsourced accounting clients across multiple industries. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing complete accounting records from source documents through to trial balance, processing and reviewing journals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare complete accounting records from source documents through to trial balance
- Process and review journals, reconciliations, and month-end close activities
- Prepare annual financial statements in line with relevant standards
- Handle payroll processing, PAYE, VAT, and other statutory submissions
- Manage and review client tax compliance and liaise with external tax authorities where required
- Respond to technical queries from external auditors and reviewers
- Ensure accuracy, speed, and attention to detail across all client deliverables
- Work closely with senior management on complex accounting issues
- Provide guidance and support to junior accounting staff and future trainees
- Engage with clients professionally across different industries and cultures
Requirements
- Strong hands-on accounting experience in an outsourced or professional services environment
- Proven ability to prepare full sets of accounts and financial statements independently
- Sound working knowledge of VAT, PAYE, payroll, and basic tax compliance
- High attention to detail with the ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
- Confident working independently while managing multiple client deadlines
Qualifications
- SAIPA-accredited articles completed and signed off
- Recently registered Professional Accountant (PA(SA))
