About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Buyer to join our client’s Restaurant Group based in Rosebank. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing both fresh and non-perishable categories across their stores, ensuring optimal stock levels, balancing availability, stock movement, and waste control.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately forecast demand and place orders based on stock movement, sales trends, and operational requirements
  • Manage both perishable (fresh) and non-perishable categories with equal competence
  • Maintain optimal stock levels, balancing availability, stock movement, and waste control
  • Monitor and adjust orders in real time to respond to:
  • Sales fluctuations
  • Seasonal trends
  • Supplier constraints
  • Build and manage strong supplier relationships, ensuring:
  • Reliable deliveries
  • Consistent quality
  • Efficient resolution of claims and discrepancies
  • Work closely with store and receiving teams to resolve issues quickly and effectively
  • Take ownership of key KPIs including availability, waste, stockholding, and supplier performance
  • Operate across multiple systems to analyse data, track performance, and drive decision-making

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Buyer in a retail or FMCG environment
  • Strong capability in both fresh and non-perishable buying
  • Demonstrated ability to manage stock effectively under pressure
  • Highly analytical with strong attention to detail
  • Confident working across multiple systems and interpreting data
  • Strong supplier management and negotiation skills
