Cape Town City Centre: Technical Sales Manager

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Manager to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our Business Development department, you will be responsible for leading our Internal Sales team and driving revenue growth through strategic sales initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the Head of Business Development
  • Oversee and manage an Internal Sales team
  • Attain budget with a minimum of 100% customer retention
  • Conduct need & cost-benefit analysis to meet customer needs
  • Identify, create, and assess opportunities for upselling
  • Conduct pipeline review and monitor outstanding Purchase Orders
  • Coordinate sales effort with team members and other departments
  • Attend sales meetings as required
  • Generate new business through cold calling
  • Identify new sales leads through networking and prospecting
  • Attend industry events to identify potential new business opportunities
  • Maintain high level industry knowledge
  • Establish, develop and maintain positive business and customer relationships
  • Present, promote and sell to existing and prospective customers using solid commercial arguments
  • Field customer complaints and / disputes to maximise customer satisfaction
  • Attend operations meetings to report on customer issues
  • Provide feedback or updates to customer CRM data is updated and maintained with all sales activities
  • Complete sales reports and analytics as directed
  • Assist with tender submissions, pricing comparisons & market analyses

Requirements

  • Grade 12 supported by a relevant tertiary/supplementary commercial qualification
  • At least 5 years experience in a similar role in B2B technical sales
  • Previous experience in the electronic manufacturing industry would be a distinct advantage
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated influencing and negotiation skills
  • Proven customer relationship management skills
  • Track record of success in B2B sales and revenue achievement
  • Good prioritising, time management and organisational skills
  • Strong leadership ability
