About the Role
The External Technical Sales Engineer will be responsible for driving business growth through strong relationships with existing and new customers. This role requires excellent communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to travel extensively.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate business from new and existing customers while developing strong and healthy business relationships.
- Direct selling to customers and generating new sales leads.
- Visiting assigned customers according to planned calling schedules.
- Preparing budgets, estimated potential and planned profitability per customer.
- Actively promoting the sales of products to existing customers and researching new market opportunities.
- Prepare and present with Power Point presentations.
- Obtain enquiries, prepare quotations and follow up to conclusion.
- Develop leads on other Manufacturing Products.
- Maintain an updated customer data base.
- Obtain information on competitors’ products, pricing policies and business strategies.
Requirements
- Matric
- Experience in Electric Motor, Automation and Control Gear and Related Products.
- Formal electrical qualification recognised apprenticeship / related diploma or at least 10 years sales experience.
- Good level of computer literacy, specifically MS. Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Good negotiating and presentation skills.
- Drivers licence.
- Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language.
