About the Role

We are seeking an inspiring, empowering, and results-oriented Assistant Food & Beverage Manager with a passion for service excellence and a proven ability to maintain high standards while meeting or exceeding financial goals. In this role, you will support the Food & Beverage Manager in translating business strategic priorities into effective divisional strategies, goals, and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in overseeing all Food & Beverage operations, including restaurants, bars, room service, and conferencing & events
  • Contribute to the development and execution of F&B strategies aligned with business objectives
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences through innovative offerings and outstanding service standards
  • Manage and control the F&B budget, driving revenue growth and ensuring operational profitability
  • Plan and implement menus, promotions, and events to enhance guest satisfaction and revenue
  • Establish and maintain high service standards across all F&B outlets
  • Lead, motivate, and develop a large team, fostering teamwork, accountability, and staff engagement
  • Oversee staff processes, including recruitment, performance management, conduct, and presentation
  • Ensure effective workforce planning, rostering, and staff development initiatives
  • Manage stock control, supplier relationships, and daily administrative functions
  • Maintain compliance with hygiene, health & safety, and pest control standards

Requirements

Matric Certificate

Relevant tertiary qualification from a recognised South African or international institution

Additional certifications such as Cape Wine Academy, WSET, or Cocktail/Bar courses are advantageous
