About the Role
As a Foreman in our Grind Shop, you will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, managing resources, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. You will work closely with maintenance teams to minimize downtime and implement process improvements. If you have excellent communication skills, organizational abilities, and a passion for production management, we encourage you to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing grind shop daily OEE
- Managing available manpower
- Managing Industrial relations within the grind shop
- Working with maintenance to eliminate down time in grind shop
- Ensuring everyone complies to health and safety regulations in grind shop
- Working with Programmer to Continuously improve cycle times
- Weekly ERS submissions
- Manage export packaging and transport
- Chairing and managing Daily MBU meeting
- Attending and updating Weekly production meetings
- Ensuring relevant operator training is conducted
- Doing 5Y investigations on scrap produced (drive to reduce scrap)
- Managing tooling in Grind shop (controlling cost)
- Controlling grinding machine cutting Fluids (coolant)
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- Production management diploma/qualification (advantageous)
- Organisational skills (office and factory)
- Strong supervisory skills
- Computer literate and skilled
- Microsoft office essential
- Trade test (beneficial)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
