About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Automation Technician to join our team in Cape Town City Centre, providing technical support for our products and contributing to the development of Auto Cad drawings and design. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in automation systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work independently.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support primarily with DF products and assist with on-site installations and commissioning of DF products for technical projects and beta sites.
  • Develop Auto Cad drawings and design.
  • Assist with assembly of automation irrigation dosing units, controllers in cabinets with protection devices, radio units, testing the hardware and software, and wiring the cabinets and panels.
  • Troubleshoot controller hardware and software.
  • Offer telephonic support to dealers and end users.
  • Provide on-site support to dealers and end users for South Africa and SADC countries.
  • Train on DF products and train dealers and end users on the correct usage of automation equipment.
  • Assist with servicing filter banks and back flushing controllers.

Requirements

  • Matric certificate.
  • Degree in Engineering/Electrical/Electronic and Mechatronics.
  • Qualified Electrician with a trade certificate.
  • 3 years in a similar role.
  • Good communication skills in English and Afrikaans.
  • Drivers license.
  • Knowledge of ELV electrical systems and VSD/PLC.
  • Understanding of hydraulics.
  • AutoCad knowledge.
  • Problem solving and organizational skills.
