Role Purpose The Business Development Manager is responsible for developing, embedding, and growing relationships with Real Estate Partners while identifying and pursuing new business opportunities. The role focuses on increasing insurance penetration and overall sales performance by onboarding new real estate partnerships and expanding existing relationships. The incumbent plays a key role in driving sales growth through effective relationship management, performance monitoring, data analysis, and strategic support to partners and internal sales teams. Key Responsibilities Relationship Management Build and maintain strong relationships with real estate partners to drive sales growth. Establish and maintain relationships with new and existing Real Estate Business Partners. Act as the primary point of contact for partner offices and agents registered as lead providers. Ensure partner needs are addressed effectively to enhance collaboration and performance. Sales Performance & Pipeline Management Monitor and manage sales performance to ensure targets are achieved. Track and report on sales performance through daily, weekly, and monthly reporting. Provide stakeholders with updates on referrals, leads, and pipeline status. Monitor sales team performance and provide insights to improve results. Data Analysis & Market Insights Analyse data and market trends to identify opportunities for growth. Conduct market research to identify regional trends and new opportunities. Analyse sales data to provide actionable insights and recommendations. Support the sales team in refining strategies to maximise performance. Training & Support Provide ongoing support and development to internal teams and external partners. Deliver training and guidance on best practices for relationship management and sales. Support partners and lead providers in improving lead generation and conversion. Assist in strengthening overall sales capability across the network. Problem Solving & Escalation Management Resolve challenges and improve operational efficiency. Manage escalations from real estate agents, bond consultants, and sales teams. Address recurring issues and provide effective solutions. Collaborate with internal teams to streamline processes and improve efficiency. Role Requirements Qualifications Matric (Grade 12) essential. RE5 advantageous. FAIS qualification (e.g. NQF5 Wealth Management) advantageous. Relevant tertiary qualification advantageous. Experience Minimum 2 years experience in sales or business development within the insurance industry. Experience within the real estate industry. Strong knowledge of insurance products and services. Technical Competencies Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Strong understanding of sales processes, pipeline management, and reporting. Ability to analyse data and generate meaningful insights. Behavioural Competencies Strong analytical and research capability. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong relationship-building and stakeholder engagement ability. Ability to influence decisions and manage conflict diplomatically. Strong time management and organisational skills. Problem-solving ability with a logical and structured approach. Results-driven with a strong focus on achieving and exceeding targets. High level of accuracy and attention to detail. Proactive and solution-oriented mindset. Additional Requirements Own reliable transport. Valid drivers licence. Willingness to travel frequently within South Africa, including the Western Cape, KwaZulu-Natal, Garden Route, Eastern Cape, and Pretoria. Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
