About the Role
As an Exercise Experience Manager at Virgin Active South Africa, you will play a crucial role in building dynamic and inclusive communities that inspire our members to achieve their wellness goals. You will be the guide, ensuring every member finds the right products, services, and fitness tribes that suit them perfectly. With a focus on creating fun, personalized experiences that keep our members engaged and coming back for more, you will embody the bold and adventurous Virgin spirit.
Key Responsibilities
- Recruitment, Onboarding & Retention: Scout, attract, and recruit talented Fitness and Group Exercise Instructors to join our vibrant community.
- Team Management & Development: Develop and nurture an all-star squad of Fitness and Group Exercise Instructors, providing regular coaching, feedback, and opportunities for growth.
- Community Building & Instructor Support: Foster a sense of belonging among Group Exercise Instructors through strong communication, managing CPD points, and scheduling development opportunities.
- Delivering Exceptional Group Exercise Experiences: Lead by example, delivering unforgettable group exercise experiences that keep members coming back for more.
- Group Exercise Focus: Manage the group exercise timetable to deliver high-energy, engaging classes that leave a lasting impact.
- Member Social Wellness: Offer comprehensive inductions, promote all our offerings, and manage our GEX Invitation system to support each member on their unique wellness journey.
- Operational Excellence: Ensure every group exercise space is functional and inspiring, upholding Health & Safety and Operational Standards.
Requirements
- Matric qualification
- Recognized Fitness Qualification
- Minimum of 5 years experience within the Fitness Industry
- Minimum of 3 years experience in managing exercise experiences within a health club or similar role
- Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in managing people/team
- Exceptional people leadership skills
- Experience in teaching a variety of Group Exercise classes
