About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Site Manager to join our team at our High Speed Bottling Plant in Boksburg for a 3-month Fixed-Term Contract (FTC) position. As Site Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating all construction site-related activities and supervising contractors working on site.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating all construction site-related activities
- Ensuring general safety on site in terms of OHSA
- Enforcing client-specific site rules and regulations
- Issuing work permits to contractors
- Arranging site induction for contractors
- Managing contractors’ setdown area
- Issuing construction drawings to contractors and ensuring latest drawing revisions are used during construction
- Monitoring construction progress against critical timelines
- Monitoring receipt and storage of equipment and materials
- Monitoring on-site QA/QC procedures
- Ensuring contractor adherence to EMP’s
- Attending weekly project meetings with client
- Liaising directly with project manager on construction issues
- Scheduling and chairing of progress and safety meetings with contractors
- Assisting in commissioning
- Compiling and managing project snag lists
- Managing ad hoc problems during project execution and implementation of suitable contingency plans
- Performing ad hoc tasks as requested by management
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Engineering/B.Tech/S4 or equivalent experience
- Minimum five years in a project environment, specifically on site-related activities
- Computer literacy (MS Project and MS Office)
- Knowledge and application of OHSA
- Meticulous attention to detail
- Good interpersonal skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good written and verbal communication skills (English)
