About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper & Payroll Administrator to join our dynamic team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our finance team, you will be responsible for supporting daily HR activities, managing payroll, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of our business.
Key Responsibilities
- Support daily HR activities, including maintaining accurate employee records, assisting with onboarding, and managing leave administration
- Oversee the payroll cycle, ensuring timely, accurate payments and compliance with all statutory requirements
- Manage all aspects of payroll for 50 staff (wages & salaries), with a growing staff compliment
- Provide vital administrative assistance to the finance team, including data entry and tenant invoicing
- Perform accurate reconciliations of bank statements, supplier accounts, tenant deposit payouts, and salary control accounts to ensure consistency
Requirements
- Bookkeeping or similar finance qualification (certificate, diploma or degree)
- Proven experience as a Bookkeeper with a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices
- Highly organised with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a small, dynamic team
- Sound knowledge of HR and payroll regulations
