About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Candidate Construction Health & Safety Officer (CHSO) to join our team in Constantia, Cape Town. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing the Project Health & Safety Plan, conducting daily site inspections, and ensuring a safe working environment for all personnel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementation of the Project Health & Safety Plan
  • Conduct daily site inspections and report unsafe acts/conditions
  • Monitor PPE compliance and general housekeeping
  • Conduct inductions and toolbox talks under supervision
  • Keep registers, checklists, and safety records updated
  • Assist with incident reporting and investigations
  • Liaise with site management and workforce on safety matters
  • Follow up on corrective actions and close-outs
  • Participate in mentorship reviews, logbook submissions, and professional development activities

Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
  • Recognised Health & Safety qualification (SAMTRAC, NEBOSH, or equivalent)
  • Registered as a Candidate Construction Health & Safety Officer (CHSO) with SACPCMP
  • Valid First Aid certificate
  • Fire Fighting / Fire Marshal training certificate
  • Incident Investigation training certificate
  • Risk Assessment training certificate

  • R13 000.00 per month (before statutory deductions)

Additional Requirements

  • Valid driver’s licence will be advantageous
