About the Role
We are seeking a Junior Commercial Litigation Secretary to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our administrative support team, you will provide essential administrative services to our commercial litigation practice, ensuring the smooth operation of our office.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting, formatting, and typing a wide range of documents, including dictaphone typing
- Preparing and amending commercial agreements, including cross-referencing clauses
- Managing diaries, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence
- Screening calls, taking messages, and providing administrative support to the team
- Preparing client accounts and assisting with billing processes
- Following up on outstanding payments and maintaining debtor records
- Managing compliance-related administrative tasks and ensuring required documentation is complete
- Conducting legal research and retrieving relevant information from electronic databases
- Maintaining and organising client and matter files (electronic and hard copy)
- Ensuring filing systems are accurate, up to date, and easily accessible
Requirements
- Matric (essential)
- Relevant qualification in legal secretarial or paralegal studies (advantageous)
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar commercial/legal secretarial role
- Dictaphone Typing & Copy typing (essential)
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
