About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Vehicle Technician to join our team at a Volkswagen dealership in Cape Town City Centre. As a key member of our service department, you will be responsible for performing advanced diagnostics and repairs on a wide range of vehicles.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform advanced diagnostics on Volkswagen vehicles using OEM diagnostic equipment (ODIS)
- Identify faults, carry out root cause analysis, and implement effective repairs
- Follow Volkswagen manufacturer specifications and technical procedures
- Conduct mechanical and electrical repairs according to dealership standards
- Test vehicles before and after repairs to ensure quality workmanship
- Identify and order required parts for repairs
- Accurately complete job cards and diagnostic reports
- Communicate additional work requirements and obtain necessary authorisations
- Maintain high levels of workshop safety, cleanliness, and organisation
Requirements
- Qualified Motor Mechanic with a Trade Certificate
- Must be a Petrol Qualified Technician
- 3 – 5 years’ experience as a Diagnostic Technician within a corporate vehicle dealership
- Volkswagen experience is advantageous
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills (mechanical & electrical)
- Experience working with ODIS diagnostic systems
