About the Role

We are seeking an experienced International Trader to join our team in Cape Town City Centre. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing strategic sourcing, buying, selling, and execution of international trade opportunities across global markets. With a strong background in international trading, you will play a key role in identifying profitable trading opportunities, developing and maintaining global supplier relationships, and driving sales growth into emerging global markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute relevant work experience in international trading for 5 or more years.
  • Sourcing products globally from multiple producing countries and international markets while developing and maintaining global supplier relationships.
  • Developing robust international customer relationships and expanding sales into existing and emerging global markets.
  • Structuring profitable international transactions and managing end-to-end trade execution from contract to final delivery.
  • Analysing international pricing trends, global supply and demand dynamics, freight and logistics costs, and currency impacts.
  • Negotiating international sales agreements, supply contracts, payment terms, Incoterms, and volume commitments.
  • Coordinating international shipment execution including freight bookings, shipping schedules, customs requirements, and documentation.
  • Managing commercial and financial risk through Letters of Credit, payment structures, currency exposure management, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant work experience in international trading.
  • Strong working knowledge of international sourcing strategies, global logistics/freight, Incoterms, trade finance instruments, customs, compliance processes, and foreign exchange risk.
  • Proficiency in ERP/CRM systems and Advanced Excel.
  • Strong commercial acumen, advanced negotiation capabilities, strategic thinking, analytical decision-making, and proactive problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, high attention to detail, strong execution discipline, and global market awareness.

Qualifications

No formal education or certifications are required for this role. However, a relevant degree in Business, Economics, or a related field is an asset.
