About the Role
The Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Manager acts as the internal owner of technology operations and improvement, reporting to the COO. This role exists to lead the detailed technical architecture and design phases of a technology transformation while ensuring reliable service delivery and driving technology maturity in the Renewable Energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the ICT function with 10-15 years of experience in ICT and at least 5 years in a senior management role.
- Own the relationship and governance of the Managed Services Provider (MSP) to ensure predictable, reliable, and secure ICT service delivery.
- Drive the optimisation and consolidation of existing platforms and processes, including M365 and security posture, to reduce complexity.
- Lead the broader ICT team, including the Digital Transformation Lead and IT Operations Lead, while defining additional team roles as necessary.
- Oversee ICT budgets, renewals, and technology spend visibility across all entities.
- Coordinate technology change governance and cybersecurity activities with internal and external specialists.
- Act as the internal face of ICT to management and partner with the OCIO team on roadmap execution and prioritisation.
- Support business cases for new systems and ensure vendor decisions align with the agreed technology roadmap.
Requirements
- Minimum 10-15 years of experience in ICT.
- At least 5 years of experience in a senior management role holding responsibility for the overall IT function.
- Degree in Information Systems, Business, Technology or a related field.
- Proven experience managing ICT operations via external service providers and holding vendors accountable.
- Experience overseeing ICT improvement initiatives, project prioritisation, and benefits realisation.
- Practical security literacy within Microsoft 365 and cloud-first environments.
Qualifications
- Governance, risk, or project management exposure (ITIL, PRINCE2, COBIT) is advantageous.
- Experience in the energy sector is highly advantageous.
Salary & Benefits
R120 000 – R140 000 per month.
