About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanic Intern to join our factory team in the textile manufacturing industry. This is a hands-on role where you will receive in-house training and mentorship on our mechanical machinery, providing practical experience and the opportunity to develop mechanical skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting senior mechanics in maintaining and repairing factory machinery
- Identifying mechanical issues and helping to troubleshoot problems efficiently
- Performing routine checks and preventative maintenance on equipment
- Supporting the team in ensuring machinery runs safely and effectively
- Learning to read technical manuals, blueprints, and machinery diagrams
- Following company safety protocols at all times
- Assisting with the installation and adjustment of mechanical components when required
- Keeping accurate records of maintenance work and repairs
Requirements
- Matric certificate
- A strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in working with machinery
- Age under 25 years for those with no prior experience OR up to 30 years old with relevant mechanical experience
- Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior mechanics
- Physical ability to handle machinery and perform hands-on tasks
- A valid driver’s license is an advantage but not essential
