About the Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Mechanic Intern to join our factory team in the textile manufacturing industry. This is a hands-on role where you will receive in-house training and mentorship on our mechanical machinery, providing practical experience and the opportunity to develop mechanical skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assisting senior mechanics in maintaining and repairing factory machinery
  • Identifying mechanical issues and helping to troubleshoot problems efficiently
  • Performing routine checks and preventative maintenance on equipment
  • Supporting the team in ensuring machinery runs safely and effectively
  • Learning to read technical manuals, blueprints, and machinery diagrams
  • Following company safety protocols at all times
  • Assisting with the installation and adjustment of mechanical components when required
  • Keeping accurate records of maintenance work and repairs

Requirements

  • Matric certificate
  • A strong mechanical aptitude and genuine interest in working with machinery
  • Age under 25 years for those with no prior experience OR up to 30 years old with relevant mechanical experience
  • Basic problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work well in a team and take direction from senior mechanics
  • Physical ability to handle machinery and perform hands-on tasks
  • A valid driver’s license is an advantage but not essential
