Hire Resolve is currently seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Design Engineer/Technologist to join our client’s team in Cape Town. This is a full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer / Technologist role in Cape Town with a focus on Building Services. As a Mechanical Design Engineer / Technologist, you will be responsible for designing mechanical systems and components for building construction projects including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems. You will also work with other design engineers and collaborate with clients to ensure that designs meet client requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for various projects
• Conduct research and analysis to optimize product designs
• Create detailed engineering drawings and specifications
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project success
• Perform calculations and simulations to evaluate the performance of mechanical systems
• Coordinate with suppliers and manufacturers to ensure timely and cost-effective production
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior engineers and technicians
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations

Requirements: 

• BEng / BSc(Eng) / BTech Mech with 3 – 4 years experience
• Experience in designing mechanical systems and components for building construction projects including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems
• Proficient in using AutoCAD, Revit, HAP and other design and modelling software
• Experience in Design Builder software or similar for XA energy efficiency assessments would be advantageous, but not essential.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Must be able to work well in a team and be self-motivated with a desire to learn and grow professionally.
