Knysna: Geophysicist

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Geophysicist to join our team in Knysna, Western Cape. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geophysics and relevant industry experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpretation of results to assist in modelling/drill target identification
• Further development of drone-borne geophysical survey processes and procedures
• Assist with Research and Development of new technologies
• Develop inversion techniques based on implementation of current and new technologies
• Geophysical Surveys & Data Acquisition
• Planning and Preparation of survey projects
• Survey data processing including QA/QC
• Drone-borne magnetics
• Drone-borne radiometric
• Downhole magnetic susceptibility
• Downhole radiometric
• Downhole optical imagery
• Downhole, surface and airborne EM
• Generate reports and validate/review deliverables prior to client submission

Requirements

• Degree in Geophysics
• 38 years relevant geophysical experience (depending on seniority)
• Operational and processing familiarity with a variety of survey equipment: Magnetometers, Gradiometers, Gamma-ray sensors, EM sensors, transmitters, etc.
• Sound knowledge theoretical and practical limitations
