About the Role

The Social Worker role at SOS Children’s Village in Cape Town is a critical position that ensures the proper admission and departure procedures for children are followed. As part of our team, you will provide advice, guidance, and support to Child and Youth Care Workers, while working closely with them to plan development programmes for each child.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure Adherence to Child Admission & Departure Procedures
• Provide Advice, Guidance, and Support to Children and Youth Care Workers
• Plan Appropriate Programmes for the Development of Each Child
• Support Other Staff Members on Issues Relating to Care-workers and Children
• Maintain Expert Knowledge on Social Work Issues

Requirements

• Degree in Social Sciences /Child and youth care work or relevant Qualification
• Registered professional in child and Youth care
• Valid SA drivers licence
• 5 years relevant operational experience, with at least 3 years in a similar environment
• Understanding of NGO`s operations, best practices and market trends
• Understanding of the Child and youth development principles
• Knowledge of programmes in an NGO environment
• Knowledge of the South African legislation governing NGO`s and their operations
• Good knowledge of Children`s rights
• Basic Knowledge of Fund development
• Understanding of Quality Management approach
