About the Role
A well-established law firm in Century City Cape Town is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary Transfers to join its conveyancing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in transfers and conveyancing, with excellent administrative and organisational skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Opening and managing transfer files
- Drafting transfer documents and correspondence
- Liaising with clients, estate agents, municipalities, bond attorneys, cancellation attorneys, and the Deeds Office
- Obtaining rates clearances, levy clearances, and transfer duty receipts
- Following up on FICA and compliance documents
- Arranging signing appointments
- Providing regular progress updates
- Assisting with billing, post-registration processes, and file closure
Requirements
- Matric
- Relevant legal secretarial qualification advantageous
- 35 years experience in a transfers role within a conveyancing department
- Sound knowledge of the property transfer process
- Experience with conveyancing software
