About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Sourcing and Supplier Manager to join our team in Cape Town, South Africa. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing and procurement strategies that align with business objectives. This is a critical role that requires strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills, as well as experience in managing purchasing processes to achieve price, quality, and delivery targets.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies in line with business objectives
- Ensure compliance with procurement, preferential sourcing, and supply chain policies
- Identify and drive costsaving, demand reduction, and supply consolidation initiatives
- Manage purchasing processes to achieve price, quality, and delivery targets (OTIF)
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to optimise commercial and delivery terms
- Oversee supplier selection, qualification, performance, and risk management
- Institute and manage SLA agreements and monitor supplier performance
- Evaluate RFQs and tenders and manage sourcing for BOMs and new projects
- Analyse spend data, manage procurement budgets, and support forecasting
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and costsaving projects
- Develop and maintain procurement systems, reporting, and SOPs
- Lead, mentor, and manage the procurement team, including performance and succession planning
Requirements
- Minimum 5–7 years’ experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supplier management
- Manufacturing environment experience – essential
- Proven people management experience
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and project management skills
- Proficiency in procurement systems – Syspro advantageous
- Ability to work under pressure and deliver against cost, quality, and delivery targets
Qualifications
- NQF Level 6 National Diploma in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration OR Equivalent
- NQF Level 7 Degree in Supply Chain Management OR Equivalent – advantageous
