Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee and coordinate site construction activities on a large-scale renewable energy project. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing construction execution, subcontractor coordination, site progress, health and safety compliance, quality requirements, resource management, and project milestone delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Plan, manage, and coordinate day-to-day construction activities on site.
Ensure construction works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, schedules, and project requirements.
Coordinate construction work fronts, manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractor activities.
Monitor construction progress and ensure project milestones and completion targets are achieved.
Manage and supervise subcontractors, site supervisors, and construction teams.
Monitor subcontractor performance, productivity, quality, and compliance with project requirements.
Lead site coordination meetings, progress reviews, planning sessions, and toolbox talks.
Coordinate civil, electrical, mechanical, and installation activities across the project.
Work closely with engineering, procurement, logistics, quality, and commissioning teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality requirements.
Support inspections, quality control processes, punch list management, and defect rectification activities.
Prepare and review progress reports, construction schedules, and project documentation.
Identify and address construction risks, delays, resource constraints, and site coordination challenges.
Support project completion, commissioning readiness, handover activities, and project close-out requirements.
Minimum Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
Minimum 810 years experience in construction management within renewable energy, power, infrastructure, industrial, mining, EPC, or civil construction projects.
Proven experience as a Construction Manager, Project Construction Manager, Senior Site Manager, or Site Manager.
Strong knowledge of construction execution, subcontractor management, site coordination, quality management, and HSE requirements.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, construction schedules, and method statements.
Strong leadership, communication, planning, and problem-solving skills.
Professional registration with SACPCMP as Pr.CM will be advantageous.
Preferred Experience
Utility-scale Solar PV project experience.
Experience working on EPC projects.
Experience managing civil, electrical, and mechanical construction interfaces.
Experience managing multidisciplinary construction teams and subcontractors.
Experience with roads, drainage, foundations, cable trenching, structural installations, and power infrastructure works.
Professional registration as Pr.CM or Pr.CPM with SACPCMP will be advantageous.
