About the Role
We are seeking an experienced External Sales Consultant to join our team in Durban. As a key member of our sales team, you will be responsible for identifying and developing business opportunities with existing and new clients, while maintaining a strong corporate image and professional relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage professionally with clients, stakeholders, and colleagues at all levels
- Identify and develop business opportunities
- Prepare reports, presentations, and maintain accurate electronic records
- Manage difficult or demanding clients while consistently maintaining a professional corporate image
- Work efficiently under pressure
- Maintain accurate administrative records
Requirements
- Minimum six years proven experience within the shipping industry or a closely related maritime environment
- At least two years experience in ship agency sales or a related commercial sales role within the maritime sector
- Strong client engagement skills and ability to identify business opportunities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Qualifications
- Tertiary qualification in Maritime Studies, Shipping Management, Logistics, Import/Export Management, or a related field (advantageous)
