About the Role

As an External Sales Consultant with Dante Personnel, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new clients, maintaining existing relationships, and driving business growth in the shipping industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client visits to establish new business opportunities
  • New business development, including identifying and securing new clients
  • Client retention by maintaining existing relationships
  • Filing and checking of Ship’s Quotas (SQs)
  • Freight applications: Applying for rates, routings, feeder space, waivers, etc.
  • Providing customers with freight rate quotations
  • Providing customer support, handling shipment and service queries if required
  • Liaising with the Principal on Business-to-Income (BIZ) matters
  • Sharing guidelines, notices, sailing schedules with clients
  • Updating databases
  • Working on tenders and freight contracts negotiations

Requirements

  • Matric
  • Tertiary qualification in Maritime studies/Import/Export advantages
  • Minimum of 6 years experience in shipping or similar environment
  • At least 2 years experience in ships agency sales
  • Valid drivers license
