About the Role

The Group Financial Manager role at Communicate Finance is a critical position that requires a seasoned finance professional to lead the financial management of our healthcare group. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring accurate and timely preparation of consolidated group financial statements, driving improvements in working capital, and maintaining high audit and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of consolidated group financial statements within 10 business days after month-end.
  • Conduct insightful analysis of group EBITDA, highlighting key variances and performance trends.
  • Drive improvements in working capital by partnering with relevant stakeholders to reduce debtor days and optimise stock levels.
  • Maintain high audit and compliance standards, ensuring zero material findings and timely resolution of all audit actions.
  • Standardise financial practices across all hospitals, including chart of accounts, policies, and reporting packs within set timelines.
  • Ensure highly accurate and compliant payroll processing, maintaining an error rate below 0.5%.
  • Strengthen finance team capability by developing leadership performance while maintaining low staff turnover.
  • Deliver clear, enhanced financial reporting and dashboards to support effective decision-making at management and executive level.

Requirements

  • CA(SA) or CIMA qualification
  • 10+ years of progressive finance experience, including at least 5 years in senior multi-site or group financial leadership (healthcare experience preferred)
  • Proven experience in hospital finance, group consolidation, and working capital management
  • Strong track record in implementing and managing ERP or hospital financial systems, with a focus on financial reporting automation
  • Hands-on experience with internal and external audits, taxation, and regulatory compliance within South Africa

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (postgraduate qualification advantageous)
