Job Description

Key Responsibilities
Business Development

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the fire protection and construction industries.
  • Generate leads through networking, cold calling, referrals, and industry engagement.
  • Build and maintain relationships with contractors, consultants, developers, engineers, and facility managers.
  • Promote the company’s fire sprinkler installation and fire protection services.

Sales & Client Management

  • Meet with prospective clients to assess project requirements and provide suitable solutions.
  • Prepare and present quotations, proposals, and service offerings.
  • Follow up on quotations and negotiate contracts and pricing where required.
  • Manage the sales pipeline and ensure sales targets are achieved.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and provide ongoing client support.

Technical & Project Coordination

  • Conduct site visits and gather project information for estimating and design purposes.
  • Work closely with estimators, project managers, and design teams to ensure accurate project costing and scope alignment.
  • Assist clients with technical information regarding sprinkler systems, hydrants, hose reels, pumps, and fire protection solutions.
  • Ensure smooth handover of secured projects to the Projects Department.

Reporting & Administration

  • Maintain accurate sales records, client databases, and activity reports.
  • Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports for management.
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and industry developments.
  • Ensure all sales documentation is completed accurately and submitted on time.

Customer Service

  • Ensure high levels of professionalism and customer satisfaction.
  • Address client queries and resolve issues promptly.
  • Build long-term relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 / Matric.
  • Relevant qualification in Sales, Business Management, Marketing, or similar advantageous.
  • Minimum 3–5 years’ sales experience within the fire protection, construction, engineering, or related industry.
  • Proven track record in technical or solution-based sales.
  • Strong understanding of fire sprinkler systems and fire protection services advantageous.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license and own reliable vehicle.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings and site visits.

Preferred Requirements

  • Existing network within the construction or fire protection industry advantageous.
  • Experience with tendering and project-based sales.
  • Knowledge of SANS fire protection standards advantageous.
