Job Description
- Matric, Proven experience in hospitality, lodge, or hotel management
- Strong operational and leadership skills, with the ability to take full ownership of a property
- A hands-on approach with the willingness to be involved in all aspects of the operation
- Ability to work independently and make decisions without constant supervision
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a practical, solutions-driven mindset
- Experience in remote, bush, or off-grid environments will be highly advantageous
- Basic knowledge of maintenance, stock control, and food service operations
- Strong communication and guest relations skills
- High level of resilience, adaptability, and emotional maturity
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage unexpected challenges
- Sober habits and reliability are essential
- Valid driver’s license (advantageous, especially for remote access)
DUTIES
- Oversee the daily operations of the hotel, ensuring smooth and efficient running
- Manage all hotel departments (front office, housekeeping, food & beverage, maintenance)
- Ensure smooth day-to-day operations across all areas
- Monitor occupancy rates, bookings, and revenue performance
- Implement and maintain operational policies and procedures
- Ensure high levels of guest satisfaction and service excellence
- Handle guest complaints and resolve issues promptly
- Maintain a welcoming and professional atmosphere
- Recruit, train, and supervise hotel staff
- Create staff schedules and manage performance
- Foster a positive team culture and high morale
- Work with marketing teams to promote the hotel
- Develop packages tailored to tourists (e.g., beach, adventure, eco-tourism)
- Build relationships with travel agents and tour operators
- Ensure compliance with local laws and regulations
- Promote eco-friendly practices suited to coastal environments
- Protect natural surroundings and support community initiatives
